Undeserved Misfortune
There have been many movies over the years where there has
been undeserved misfortune, but the one movie that out bests them all would be
the movie “I am Legend”. In the
movie, the main character loses his dog that he has had since he was a puppy.
His dog dies saving his owner from turning to an infected person. In life, the
one moment that I have witnessed undeserved misfortune was when a classmate of
mine was accused for something that he didn’t do which caused him to get
detention for the other person’s mistake. My idea for a film of an undeserved
misfortune would be about a man who since Friday the 13th has had
undeserved misfortune because he did everything your not supposed to do on that
day. He has had so much misfortune
that in the end, the only way to get rid of the bad luck was to get good luck,
so he got everything that brings good luck. In the end he is able to get rid of
his bad luck and now has good luck.

Conflict
There have been many movies that have had conflict, but the
one movie that I thought had the most conflict was in the movie “ Transformers”.
In the movie, the conflict is that humans are unable to accept alien robots
from living among them. There have been many conflicts in our society, but one
of the biggest conflicts in our world is war between other nations for power.
By using this conflict from life, the idea of the film would be a person who is
trying to save society and another person who is trying to destroy it. The
person who is trying to bring peace between nations, would have to beat the villain
who is the one who always causes war between countries. For example the villain would have been
the one who caused World War 1 and 2. He is doing this for his own entertainment
to see the outcome for the next war he would cause.

Blog # 9 My Review of The Elephant Man
The movie The Elephant Man was overall the best movie
that I have seen in black and white. I believe that it should have received academy
awards because it had all of the factors that a movie needed such as suspense,
plot, and a theme. I liked how the movie gives us a theme that you should never
judge a book by its cover. I liked how every person had a specific judgment
over John Merrick and then later on changed that judgment into a welcoming
personality towards the monster. The movie also shows us that we are all in one
point a monster; not physically, but instead mentally. The movie in the
beginning gave me a disgusted look toward the elephant man, but as the movie
progressed, I started to have sympathy towards him. The movie had a horrible
ending although because John Merrick died in his sleep, but at the same time,
it had an ironic ending due to John dying trying to sleep like a normal person.

Blog # 8 My Name is John Merrick
Today, after being rescued by the circus people, I was put
on a boat back to London and I am happy I can once again be united with the
people who care for me instead of the people who abuse me such as Bites. When I
got off the boat, many people who wanted to see my disordered body were
following me which made me feel like a monster and not a human being. I let the
people know that I wasn’t a monster but instead a human being just like them.
After that, I went unconscious and when I woke up, I discovered that I became
reunited with the people who love me as a human and not a monster. Ms. Kendall
was gracious enough to give us box seats to her play and I was excited to see
the theater for the first time. Dr. Treves told me that I wouldn’t be different
amongst the people in the theater but instead like them. This response made me
feel like I was not a monster but instead a human being.

Post # 7 Welcome to My Nightmare
I’ve had many nightmares that have caused me to wake up in
the middle of the night and make sure it didn’t happen, and one of those dreams
that frightened me was when I caused a car crash. It was at the time when I was
able to drive and while I was driving my family to my cousin’s house in Pomona,
I accidentally hit a car on the side of me. Once I hit that car, it caused many
other cars to crash too. When I got out of the car to check if they were ok, I
saw many people have major injuries from the crash. Some of the injuries I saw were
glass in a man’s eye, people had glass on their head, and some people lost
their hand. Once I saw the damage that I have caused to innocent people, I
immediately was shocked and woke up in an instant. Now every time I practice how to drive, I make sure to always
focus on the road and try not to distract myself with other things.

When I go to college, I want to study about engineering so I
can become a mechanical engineer and help the world out with some of its
problems so that it can become a safer place. Just like in video, I want to
show the same compassion he did towards the world’s problem and not look away
from the issue. Once I obtain the intellect I need to become an engineer, I
will use it to help others just like how other people have helped me become the
way I am today. I believe that the only way for society to improve itself is by
having compassion towards people’s problems instead of waiting for a solution
to appear into our lives. I believe that solutions don’t appear out of thin air
but instead we make our own solutions to a problem with the knowledge and
compassion we have towards others.

In the future I believe that everyone would be equal and
that everyone will have a job. I also believe that in the future we would have
robots that would be mostly be used in the medical field so that they have a
better chance to help out the sick people. I believe that later on in the
future, we humans would have found a cure to all the worst diseases and viruses
such as cancer or Ebola. I also believe that we will have more improvements on
technology such as flying cars that don’t run on gas or any other toxic fuels
that affect our atmosphere. I also believe that in the future we would have
teleportation devises instead of planes to take us to other countries. In the
future, I believe that they would solve the problem of global warming so that
we can have normal temperatures instead of having more broken records everyday.

There have been many moments in which I have laughed so hard that I
couldn’t stop laughing, but one of the moments that made me laugh the most is
when my cousin got hit in the face with a soccer ball. That was the funniest
moment because when we were playing soccer in the park with my relatives from
my dad’s side, we were really into the game a lot that we would get hurt many
times. Everyone was getting hit by the ball in areas such as arms, chest, and
backs, but the funniest moment was when my cousin got hit in the face with a
ball. At that moment everyone who was playing stopped and laughed at my cousin.
At the same time we also went to see if he was seriously injured. It was so
funny that when I went home I still laughed about it and everyday we play
soccer with our relatives, I tell my cousin to pay attention to the ball at all
times.

The movie Modern Times by Chaplin
was a movie that had all the characteristics it needed to have such as comedy,
plot, climax and it was suspenseful. Since the movie was made in 1936 I would
have expected it to be a more modern movie with sound but even though it was a
movie without sound and color, it was a great movie. I liked how the movie
pertained to that era’s problems and how even though their life was difficult,
they would never give up. I liked how the ending wasn’t a depressing ending but
instead an ending in which actually gave me a lesson I should use throughout
the future. The intro was also good due to Chaplin relating workers to sheep,
which shows that we are like other creatures in the world. Overall this movie
helped me change my perspective on black and white movies that also contain no
sound.

When I was in Elementary bullying was not a problem in my school but
when I went to Middle School, I witnessed bullying every time. I saw a couple
of students being pushed around because they were new to the school and since
they were “scrubs”. In Middle
School if you were a “scrub”, you would become bullied but as you move up
grades, you become the bully toward the new students. I once witnessed a kid
being bullied because they talked weird. The reason I believe that there was
bullying in middle school is because we were at an age where we believed that
only the strong can succeed at this level. I also believe that people were
bullied because we weren’t mature enough to understand the effects that
bullying can do to someone. Now during High School I have witnessed little
amount of bullying because I believe that at this age, we are old enough to
comprehend the consequences of our actions.

My favorite movie that I have
seen so far in my life would have to be The Dark Knight. The reason I liked
this movie so much is because it has a lot of action and it has so much
surprises. The movie itself has so much plots and it basically showed much
of the comic book character’s origins. I also liked the fact that characters throughout
the story changed their personality, which made me believe that each character
couldn’t be trusted until the very end. I also liked how the main villain changed
other people’s perspectives of how they looked at the world. The reason why I liked
this movie so much is because it included my favorite superhero and villain in
the same movie. In the end I also liked the fact that it leaves behind
unanswered questions which keeps me wanting to watch the next movie. This movie
overall deserved a 5 out of 5 due to having every necessity that a movie needs
to have in a movie.
